About: Since 2004, we have been manufacturing Handy Digital Moisture Meters, weighing approximately 2kg. Designed with a plastic compression unit to meet market demand for lightweight, portable meters, this innovation has also contributed to a more affordable price. These meters are renowned for their ease of use, featuring a single volume cup of about 13 cc of sample, fixed pressure with automatic disengagement, offering the perfect balance of portability, efficiency, and convenience.
Application : They are calibrated for Cereals, Pulses, Millets, Oil seeds, Vegetable seeds, coffee seeds. These are very popular in APMC’s ( Mandis ) and with grain merchants wanting easy measurement in the field.
Construction: The compression unit of these Handy Digital Moisture Meters is made from durable ABS plastic. A handle on top ensures consistent pressure during operation. The unit is equipped with an automatic disengagement mechanism that activates once the desired pressure is reached. The base features a molded circular plastic piece that securely holds the compression unit in place for stable operation. These moisture meters feature a membrane keypad for selecting commodities and navigating menu options.
Working Principle: Handy moisture meters for grains operate on the principle that the electrical resistance of grains changes with moisture content. A table is programmed into the microcontroller to map the relationship between moisture content and resistivity constant. Additionally, they are programmed to compensate for temperature variations, ensuring precise moisture measurement for grains
Operation: First, measure a fixed volume of grain (approximately 13 cc) using the provided volume cup and transfer it to the test cup. Apply high pressure to compress the grain to a preset thickness, then press the read switch. The moisture content will be displayed on the LCD screen of the digital moisture tester.
Standards: The accuracy, repeatability, and reproducibility of this machine meet BIS (IS-8824 Part 1: 2022) and international standards. Indosaw now has an in-house NABL-approved (ISO 17025: 2017) moisture testing lab for IS-4333 (Part 2: 2017) to verify the results of our grain moisture meters
