About: In 2009, we introduced our Compact Grain Moisture Meters, reducing the weight from 22 kg (of existing Universal Moisture Meter models ) to just 12.5 kg.
This redesign made these moisture meters more portable and easier to handle, while still retaining the critical advantage of the test cup being visible during operations. With the reduced weight and size, our compact Moisture Meters offer the perfect blend of portability and ease of use. This also helped in reducing the moisture meters price. The design of this model is registered under number 225286, dated October 12, 2009. This model also has a real time data logging facility. These are commonly referred to as paddy moisture meters, rice moisture meters, maize moisture meters and seed moisture meters, they offer trusted performance and reliability.
Application : They are calibrated for Cereals, Pulses, Millets, Oil seeds, Vegetable seeds, coffee seeds. Highly popular across the milling industry, our moisture meters are widely used in Dall mills, Rice mills, Flour mills, Grain warehouses, Seed companies, and government procurement agencies.
Construction: These new compact moisture meter models feature main bodies made from a special alloy steel, while the test cup, top plunger, bottom plunger, ratchet handle, and crank handle’s body are constructed from stainless steel. In this design the Top plunger is fixed and the Test Cup moves upwards to compress the grain sample. The thickness is measured on the linear vertical scale ( main division ) and the dial ( sub division) on the side of the meter. The mechanical components including buttress thread lead screw, bevel gears, main body, plungers etc of these moisture meters are manufactured by CNC machining process to very high precision to ensure interchangeability.
Working Principle: Digital moisture readers for grains operate on the principle that the electrical resistance of grains changes with moisture content. A table is programmed into the microcontroller to map the relationship between moisture content and resistivity constant. Additionally, they are programmed to compensate for temperature variations, ensuring precise moisture measurement for grains.
Operation:Indosaw moisture meters feature a membrane keypad for selecting commodities and navigating menu options. To operate, a fixed volume of grain (about 30 cc) is measured using the provided volume cup and transferred to the stainless steel test cup. High pressure is then applied to compress the grain to a predetermined thickness, after which the read switch is pressed to display the moisture content on the LCD screen of the digital moisture meter tester.
Standards: The accuracy, repeatability, and reproducibility of this machine meet BIS (IS-8824 Part 1: 2022) and international standards. Indosaw now has an in-house NABL-approved (ISO 17025: 2017) moisture testing lab for IS-4333 (Part 2: 2017) to verify the results of our grain moisture meters.
